  73. The ''Big Dish'' earth-moon-earth operation from VE3ONT on the first
  74. weekend of the ARRL EME Contest October 29 and  30 has been
  75. preempted by professional use of the dish, which will be used by
  76. radio astronomers participating in a worldwide supernova observation
  77. experiment.

  79. According to Michael Owen, W9IP, operators expect to have access to
  80. the 46-meter dish for the second weekend of the 'Test, November 26
  81. and 27, as previously announced.  The November operation will be on
  82. 144 MHz on both days, transmitting on 144.100 and listening
  83. 144.100-144.110 from approximately 0538 to 1645 UTC on the 26th and
  84. 0646 to 1713 UTC on the 27th.

  86. Losing the October weekend cost the group planned operations on 50,
  87. 432, and 1296 MHz. The dish is part of the Algonquin Space Complex
  88. in Toronto.

  281. It would highley suppect the Non Jacket lines.  These are a NO NO on a 
  282. tower.  The Diode Actions can cause all sorts of problems.  he site 
  283. sounds like it's full of stuff so any one, a combination, or all the the 
  284. transmitters could be causing the problems as you indicated.  Good luck 
  285. on setting the nonjacket line replaced.  By the way where did this 
  286. nonjacked stff come from.  The most common source of Non Jacket cable 
  287. CATV which really is not a good cable for repeater operation.  It was 
  288. never designed to operate at repeater power levels.

  339. Why is it that the items that I am interested in are always the last ones 
  340. available?  I have had to stop recommending Ten Tec kits to my club members
  341. because of their poor shipping history (2 kits ordered, each time I call 
  342. they quote another 6-8 wks delivery time).  I have never seen one of their 
  343. kits, so I can't say anything about their quality, just their marketing...
  344. I guess they don't realize how much this is hurting them.

  362. transverter had been on order since May.  Last Friday they told me they

  413.     I would say do the same thing with your self most if not all chicago 
  414. systems are quiet unless somebody wants to talk to anybody else.  Do as you
  415. wish because a random key up like that can bring others in that are passing
  416. through your area.

  418.     Now some of you maybe saying HUGH how does the radio get keyed if
  419. you are not there..  It is a motorola thing my radio IDs in MDC, and the
  420. person who called me did a remote on my radio and will identify  for the
  421. transmisson as if using a remote base. That in a nut shell is a select call
  422. demanding an ACK.

  424.     If you are ever in Indiana say Gary to about 20 miles east
  425. to about Milwaukee Wi if you here teh system active feel free to say hello.
  426. If the system is quite wait a bit until somebody keys it up, it is a semi 
  427. closed system.. when it is sleeping you need MDC to wake it up for 2mins.
  428. If not it will ignore you.  And it is a benevolent(sp) dictator ship.

  450. 25kHz. of each band is what did it for me...The other thing I did was give my
  451. microphone to a friend and fellow ham...I told him not to give it back until I
  452. upgraded...What do you know...Within 2 months I had overcome my code barrier...

  484. Well Dave...I just recieved a brochure from K-40 electronics division
  485. and they have come out with a little device that is retrofitted in  a
  486. license plate...they say if you get a ticket by laser then they will
  487. send you a check for DOUBLE the amount...they also state that it is
  488. 100% legal in all 50 states...and sugg. retail price is $199.99, kinda
  489. sounds neat-o to get on and figure out how it does it...

  522. frequency/pulse duration or coherency to turn all of the traffic lights
  523. green like emergency vehicles do.  Or can you?
